And now startup companies and tech disruptors are taking the Kinect into uncharted territory. They are actually using the Microsoft Accelerator for Kinect program to help people capture the world in 3D using Kinect for Windows.
It's nice to see the next generation starting to bring some depth to the digital world.

You've definitely heard of the technology giant Microsoft. There's a very good chance you're familiar with the popular gaming system from Microsoft: Xbox. You've even most likely heard of this year's hot new accessory the Xbox Kinect (a Digital Trends 2011 Top 10 gifts for gamers). But what you've probably never heard of before is the man and the startup that made the Xbox Kinect possible.
Entrepreneur Alex Shpunt is the man behind the motion gaming technology for the Microsoft Xbox Kinect. He had the vision. He had the talent. And he's got the patents. Alex Shpunt is many things: Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Startup Cofounder, Patent holder, Military veteran. But one thing he is not is a slacker.
