Welcome to the 3D Web Courtesy of Alex Shpunt and Kinect Technology

The Web as we know it is flat. I guess that means you can call Alex Shpunt the 21st Century's Christopher Columbus. Alex Shpunt is the man responsible for the technology behind the Microsoft Kinect. And now startup companies and tech disruptors are taking the Kinect into uncharted territory. They are actually using the  Microsoft Accelerator for Kinect program to help people capture the world in 3D using Kinect for Windows.

It's nice to see the next generation starting to bring some depth to the digital world.

Is Alex Shpunt the Real Santa Claus? An ode to the inventor of the Microsoft Xbox Kinect.

You've definitely heard of the technology giant Microsoft. There's a very good chance you're familiar with the popular gaming system from Microsoft: Xbox. You've even most likely heard of this year's hot new accessory the Xbox Kinect (a Digital Trends 2011 Top 10 gifts for gamers). But what you've probably never heard of before is the man and the startup that made the Xbox Kinect possible.

Entrepreneur Alex Shpunt is the man behind the motion gaming technology for the Microsoft Xbox Kinect. He had the vision. He had the talent. And he's got the patents. As Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder  of the startup Primesense, Alex Shpunt  designed a 3-D vision system that that lets anyone control a computer just by gesturing in the air. And once Primesense partnered with Microsoft to develop and market the Kinect, together they revolutionized gaming as we know it.

So if you get a Kinect under your Christmas tree this year, just know that you don't have to thank a jolly old fat man. Just thank Alex Shpunt.

Alex Shpunt is many things: Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Startup Cofounder, Patent holder, Military veteran. But one thing he is not is a slacker. As co-founder of the startup company Primesense (with Aviad Maizels), the kick ass entrepreneur Alex Shpunt is reshaping the world of technology and will be a force in the gaming and entertainment industries for years to come.

This blog will bring you the latest and greatest news as Alex and Primesense continue to grow and expand their successes.
